Here are some examples of work we have carried out in both domestic and commercial properties.

Underfloor heating

This shows what the pipe network that sits beneath the floor looks like. Through that network, the warmed liquid will flow and the heat generated will radiate upwards through the floor, warming the room.

Unlike radiators that heat the air, underfloor heating provides radiant heat, resulting in a more even and comfortable temperature distribution.

Underfloor heating loops

All the pipework laid under the floor needs to be labelled clearly so that if there are any issues with a particular area, the pipework can be traced. Therefore, during the install, care needs to be taken to ensure the network of pipes is neatly arranged and marked up.

Silo bag for a biomass boiler

This is a large silo bag for storing the pellets used in a biomass boiler. A hose will be fitted to automatically move the pellets from the bag to the boiler where they will be burned to create heat.

Burying the ‘slinkies’

The ‘slinkies’, which are just visible in the trench, are being buried adjacent to the house they will heat. A mixture of water and antifreeze (glycol) circulates through the slinky and absorbs heat from the surrounding earth. The warmed fluid is then pumped back into the ground source heat pump. The heat pump then takes the low-grade heat from the fluid and elevates it to a higher temperature, which can then be used to heat the house.

Planning stages

This is a schematic of a heating system in a large house which we were asked to update. A lot of planning went into the decisions as to what could go where as the infrastructure of the property was quite restrictive.

It was a challenge we happily accepted!

Solar heating

This is a photovolaic array that we fitted in mid-Wales, taking advantage of a beautiful sunny day to deliver extra energy. Solar heating can be seen as an investment on your roof!

A complete makeover

These 2 pictures are of a house in Llanfair Caereinion where we added a ground source heat pump, underfloor heating and solar panels.

The addition of external insulation provided a waterproof skin to cover porous bricks. It also improved energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.
